Well, I suppose I'll update my blog as I'm playblasting. (playblast is an animation term)
So... I'm here at my workstation in NY. I'm currently working at Blue Sky Animation Studios as a temp. animator. I'm in my 3rd week. I'll be here for only a few months. It's been pretty flippin intense, but I'm lovin it and I'm learning TONS! I'm workin about 10-12 hr days, which isn't always normal working days. The deadline is really tight and we are animating like crazy! I feel lucky to be hear and I'm not sure what's next, but this is a big start!
YAY!

You got into bluesky!
Lucky barsterd^^
Did you just send in a Demoreel and then they contacted you or how?
Well, I wish I had just a few extra years of experience, I would have gone for the BlueSky job as well. Ryan, I hope all goes well for you man. I look forward to seeing what you work on in there.
I think it would be cool to hear how it is to work for a studio such as BlueSky, hard to imagine you know?
Thanks guys! Well, I just sent them a pretty simple reel with 4 AM shots and then a dialogue shot I did a while back. They then called me seeing if I was interested. I know I wouldn't have gotten in if I was applying for a full-time position with that reel. We've got a a lot of temps workin here. I'll be here for only a couple more months. It's really intense guys! So make sure you're in it for the long haul! It's fun and exciting, but pretty nerve-racking at the same time. The animation the more experienced animators are doing is amazing, so you definitely feel like a horrid animator when you are a noobie. haha. Oh and make sure you try and speed up your animation workflow cause you need to be somewhat quick, while making good decisions, especially near the end of production. So work hard and bust out some animation. Get to know your basic and body mechanics and then focus of acting. Study up on anything you can get your hands on. Read "the illusion of life"(by frank and ollie) and "acting for animators" (by ed hooks) and "the survival kit" (by richard williams) etc
I'm so proud of you Hobbieface!!
Congratulations on the gig!
why thankya!
